About Interactions

Generic Modafinil may interact with some over-the-counter medications, food, and alcohol. While some of such interactions may only affect its onset of action, others may be negative and increase the risk of side effects or render either medicine ineffective.

Avoid taking Generic Modafinil concomitantly with the following meds:

• street drugs like MDMA (ecstasy);
• blood thinners like warfarin;
• antifungal drugs such as ketoconazole and itraconazole;
• CYP3A4 substrates like cyclosporin;
• rifamycins such as rifabutin and rifampin;
• antihypertensive agents like guanabenz, propranolol, clonidine, prazosin, etc.;
• drugs containing armodafinil or modafinil.

Generic Modafinil 200mg interacts negatively with excessive amounts of caffeine, as well as chocolate. Be mindful of drinks that contain lots of caffeine, including tea and coffee. Do not use this medicine alongside alcohol, as it can cause unpredictable effects. There have been reports of blackouts linked to such a mixture.

Fatty foods are known to delay the absorption of Generic Modafinil and could ultimately prolong the time it takes for its effects to kick in. No other foods are known to interact with this medicine. Refer to the product leaflet to get a more comprehensive list of interactions.
