Certain drugs, food, and alcohol, when combined with Modalert, may cause it to be less effective and even increase the risk of side effects in certain cases.

Some of the drugs that interact with Modalert include:

poppers (street drugs) such as methamphetamine;
deflazacort;
clopidogrel;
rifampin/Rifadin;
bosutinib;
sedatives like midazolam/Versed, triazolam/Halcion, or diazepam/Valium;
antifungal medications like itraconazole/Sporanox or ketoconazole/Nizoral.

Also, caffeine or beverages that contain it should not be taken together with Modalert 200 mg as it could cause drowsiness or even fainting. Alcohol or foods with high alcohol content should be avoided as it could increase the risk of side effects.
