About Interactions

Modvigil can have variable interactions with certain drugs, food, and alcohol. These interactions can reduce the efficacy of the drug or even increase the risk of side effects.

Clomipramine, Ketoconazole, Rifampin, or hormonal products such as birth control tablets are some of the drugs that should not be taken with Modvigil. While Rifampin has been found to reduce the efficacy of the drug, Ketoconazole and Clomipramine increase the risk of negative after-effects.

Modvigil greatly reduces the efficacy of birth control pills and should therefore not be used while taking them.

Do not take alcohol while taking this drug as it may worsen its adverse effects. No foods are known to interact with Modvigil. However, foods like cheese, pizza, and other meals rich in fat may reduce the absorption rate of the drug. This can delay its onset time.
